About Cotton Acid Oil
Cotton Acid Oil (CAO) is a by-product derived from the refining of crude cottonseed oil. During the neutralization process in oil refining, free fatty acids (FFA) are separated from the oil using alkali, forming soap stock. This soap stock is then acidulated with mineral acids (usually sulfuric acid), resulting in Cotton Acid Oil.
