It is produced from the fractional distillation of crude oil, resulting in a black, viscous, thermoplastic material with excellent adhesive and waterproofing properties.

VG-30 is designed for heavy-duty road construction, especially in regions with high traffic load and warm climates. It serves as a modern replacement for the traditional 60/70 penetration grade bitumen under IS 73:2013 standards.
